A Message from Our Founder
Before I tell you why I founded the Human Ego Transformation Foundation, I want to share where my journey began.
I grew up in a home marked by instability. The woman who gave birth to me struggled with severe mental and emotional difficulties throughout my childhood, but she never sought or accepted professional help and was therefore never formally diagnosed. My father, while financially present, was largely absent from my daily life. I never had to wonder whether there would be food on the table, but I grew up without the emotional security, stability, and guidance that every child deserves.
Living through those experiences taught me at an early age that a child's greatest needs extend far beyond food, clothing, or shelter. Every child needs to feel safe. Every child needs someone who believes in them. Every child deserves the opportunity to grow in an environment that nurtures their dignity, confidence, and hope.
Those lessons stayed with me as I pursued my education.
During my studies in Bioinformatics at the Université de Montréal, I took a break from my program to participate in the Government of Canada educational program, Odyssey. The program brought me to Alberta, where I worked as a French-language assistant in elementary schools.
Working closely with children during that school year allowed me to witness their curiosity, resilience, and potential firsthand. I saw how encouragement, patience, and a supportive environment could help a child grow in confidence and begin to believe in their own abilities.
After completing the Odyssey program, I returned to the Université de Montréal, where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics and later earned a Master of Science in Pharmacology, specializing in computational biophysics.
Life continued to move forward, and over the years I returned to my home country only twice after leaving in 2013. Children begging on the streets for food was not something entirely new to me, but during my second visit, six and a half years after the first, I could see that the situation had become much worse.
One day, I encountered a child who appeared to be barely six years old. Wearing torn shoes and dirty clothes, the child quietly begged for a few coins to buy something to eat.
I left that day knowing I could not simply look away.
A child that young should have been learning, playing, feeling protected, and dreaming about the future—not worrying about where the next meal would come from.
That encounter brought together two parts of my life that had always felt separate. My own childhood had taught me how deeply a child's environment shapes who they become. My experiences working with children in Canada had shown me what is possible when children are supported, encouraged, and given the opportunity to thrive. Seeing vulnerable children in my home country made it impossible to ignore the gap between potential and opportunity.
It became clear to me that while we cannot choose the circumstances into which we are born, we can choose the kind of world we build for the next generation.
That conviction became the foundation of the Human Ego Transformation Foundation.
Our mission is to help restore dignity and opportunity by providing essential resources, advancing education, supporting families, and strengthening communities so that vulnerable children can grow in safety, hope, and possibility.
We believe that poverty should never determine a child's future. We believe that every child deserves the chance to discover their potential, regardless of where they were born.
And above all, we believe that every soul has a purpose, and every child can rise.
